Fall Semester
October 8 - December 5, 2026
ASL Level 1
Our 8‑week Introductory ASL class offers a welcoming start to American Sign Language and Deaf culture, helping you build essential vocabulary, basic syntax and grammar, numbers 1–100, visual discrimination skills, fingerspelling, and the use of space and gestures. Taught in a supportive, engaging environment, this course gives you the confidence to begin simple conversations and start connecting meaningfully with the Deaf community.
We are offering 2 sections for the fall semester, both in person at Kids on 12th School:
Thursdays, 6:00-8:00pm
Saturdays, 1:00-3:00pm
- Classes will not meet on Thursday 11/26 or Saturday 11/28 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
To make our courses as accessible as possible, we offer sliding-scale pricing between $160–$360 for the 8-week semester. We ask that you honestly evaluate your financial situation and pay the highest rate you can manage. If you have the means to be generous, contributing at a higher level directly helps us offset costs for people who need to pay a lower rate.
If you cannot afford the minimum rate of $160, please let us know what you are able to pay on the registration form. You will be placed on our waiting list. If any seats remain as we near the start of classes, we will reach out to offer spots based on availability.
